THODUPUZHA: A unique scene was witnessed at a school in Idukki district during the SSLC Examination this year, with seven sets of twins appearing for the exam from the same school. The twins are studying at St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Karimannoor.
This school had the highest number of SSLC candidates in the district, with a total of 314 students taking the exam. Among the twins, four are boys and ten are girls. Six pairs of twins have been studying in the school since Class 5, while Jia and Jianna joined in Class 7. Though they study in different divisions, all of them are close friends.
The twins are:
Gokul Krishna Biju and Gautham Krishna Biju, children of Biju and Rashmi of Amayapra;
Angel Maria Bijo and Ajal Maria Bijo, children of Bijo and Anila of Thommankuthu;
Karthika Jomon and Keerthana Jomon, children of Jomon and Jisha of Kalayanthani;
Jia Shibu and Jianna Shibu, children of Shibu and Jibi of Cheenikkuzhi;
Navaneeth Dileep and Nayana Dileep, children of Dileep and Manju of Pannoor;
Jeswin Jason and Juleena Jason, children of Jason and Shiji of Ezhumuttom;
Anila Baby and Akhila Baby, children of Baby and Beena of Chilavu.
Teachers sometimes find it difficult to identify Jia and Jianna, and Jeswin and Juleena because they look very similar. Even people in their hometown occasionally confuse them, though their classmates and family members can easily tell them apart.
Similar interests and plans
All seven pairs of twins hope to continue their studies together in the future as well. Many of them plan to take commerce or science in Plus One and later pursue career in business, medicine, or even go abroad. They also share similar interests in food, studies, and entertainment. Jia and Jianna participated in the “Irulan Dance” event at last year’s Kerala School Kalolsavam, while the others are also interested in arts and cultural activities.
All students are talented. We expect many of them to achieve high marks in the exams.
