DAKAR: A Brussels Airlines flight departing from Dakar, Senegal witnessed a lady going into labour pain shortly after takeoff. The airline later praised a crew member who assisted in the delivery, calling it a moment of true professionalism and care. When Ndeye, the passenger went into labour mid-air, Jennifer Joie, the flight attendant, a doctor and a 22-year-old nurse, passengers of the flight, transformed the cabin into a delivery ward.

The pilots quickly turned the plane back toward Dakar, but before they could land, baby Fanta had already arrived.

Brussels Airlines also posted a heartwarming photo of Joie holding the newborn, named Fanta, while her mother rested beside her. The doctor said the baby and the mother are healthy. A cabin crew member is being trained for everything. Jennifer said that they worked very calmly and as a team.

Brussels Airlines shared the information on its Instagram page.

‘The first moments were tense-was she okay? Was she breathing? Then, the most beautiful sound filled the cabin: her first cry," the airline shared in a LinkedIn post. ‘Holding baby Fanta in her arms as they landed in Dakar is a moment Jennifer will never forget. Stories like these remind us that being cabin crew is about more than just flying- it's about caring for people in any situation.’
