Unidentified dead body found in Vaikom Mahadeva temple pond; temple reopened after purification

KOTTAYAM: Reports say that an unidentified body was found in the pond of Vaikom Sree Mahadeva temple on Thursday. It was devotees who first took note of the dead body floating in the temple pond. The incident was reported at around 10 am today.

The fire rescue team reached the spot and shifted the body to a hospital. Given the incident, the temple was closed for half an hour and was reopened after conducting ritualistic ablutions( purification). No further details have been released regarding the incident.
