Youth dies after building collapses in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: One died after a portion of a building collapsed at Kakkuni in Vadakara. Three sustained injuries. The dead has been identified as Jithin (26), son of Kannan of Theekkuni. Three who sustained injuries has been admitted at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. The condition of one of them is serious.

The building collapsed Sunday morning at 11 am. The Nadapuram fire force said the accident was caused by the collapse of an unscientifically constructed sunshade on top of a wooden shed near the house. The locals carried out the rescue operations and evacuated everyone before the fire brigade arrived.
