'Maranamass', the latest movie starring Basil Joseph, has been banned in Saudi Arabia, minding the transgender identity of one among the cast members. Meanwhile, the censor board in Kuwait requested that the parts featuring the transgender star be cut and screened.

"Due to Kuwait's censorship laws, some scenes in the first and second half of the film had to be cut. We hope that the edit will not ruin the mood of the movie. Everyone, get to the theatres and support this one,” quoted the makers on social media.

Meanwhile, the film has been given a U/A certificate in India. The film is produced by Tovino Thomas, Raphael Thomas Pozholiparambil, Tingston Thomas, and Thanseer Salam under the banners of Tovino Productions, Raphael Film Productions, and Worldwide Films.

The script and dialogues are written by Siju Sunny and director Sivaprasad, based on the story by actor Siju Sunny. Rajesh Madhavan, Siju Sunny, Puliyanam Poulose, Suresh Krishna, Babu Antony, and Anishma Anilkumar play other characters.
