'Happy about Gokul's special jury mention': Blessy on winning State Film Award

KOCHI: Director Blessy expressed his joy and pride after four of the eight films he has directed received awards, speaking to the media after winning the State Film Award for Best Director. He shared his happiness, noting that it was particularly gratifying to see recognition in categories such as Best Actor and Best Cinematographer.

Among the awards, Blessy highlighted the Special Jury Award for Gokul as the most meaningful. He described Gokul’s exceptional performance as the most beautiful and fulfilling achievement among all the accolades.

When the State Film Awards were announced, Aadujeevitham secured nine awards in total, including Best Director for Blessy, Best Actor for Prithviraj, Popular Film, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Make-up Artist (Ranjith Ambadi), Best Sound Mixing (Rasul Pookutty and Sarath Mohan) and Best Cinematography (Sunil K S). Prithviraj expressed his delight at receiving the award, emphasizing that every recognition is shared by everyone who contributed to the film.

"I am especially happy for the recognition given to Blessy Chetan," Prithviraj said. "The greatest recognition we received was the love and appreciation from movie lovers worldwide when Aadujeevitham hit theaters. It’s an immense pleasure to receive this formal recognition now. Prithviraj also reflected on the hard work behind the film, stating, "Every film requires a great deal of effort, but Aadujeevitham demanded even more. It’s deeply satisfying to see this effort recognized. Back in 2008-2009, many people said that making Aadujeevitham was impossible. Blessy Chettan is the one who made that dream a reality. He deserves the most credit for this film. His dedication over sixteen years is the main reason behind all this. Without Blessy Chettan, none of us would be talking about this film now."
