Actor and director Alleppey Ashraf opened up about the neglect he faced from the mimicry organisation. Alleppey Ashraf talked about getting humiliated by actor-director Nadirshah at a public event.

Ashraf:

“I once attended a general body meeting of the Mimicry Artists Association during Nadirshah's tenure as the president. Nadirshah brought five mimicry stars to inaugurate the event. I was not invited to the inauguration event. An organiser asked him the reason for snubbing me from the event. Nadirshah was incensed with me for not supporting actor Dileep in the actress assault case, so he decided not to invite me. He even dared to tell this in public.

When actor Murali was in power as the president of the Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, I beseeched him to make mimicry part of the Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. However, Murali refrained and said mimicry cannot be seen as an art form. Later, when Mukesh became the chairman of the Akademi, its mimicry was made part of the Akademi.”
