IFFI to start in Goa on 20th: Three Malayalam films at the festival

KOCHI: Two of the 22 films selected for production with foreign participation as part of the International Film Festival in Goa are Malayalam movies. A documentary is also on the list.

The feature films are 'The Manager' directed by Sandeep Sreelekha and Puthenkacheri (Secretariat) directed by Rajesh K. The documentary is Colors of the Sea, directed by Jeffin Thomas. Rajesh Puthanpura, one of the producers of the Manipuri documentary Nupi Keithel, is a Malayali.

The Waves Film Bazaar, organized by the National Film Development Corporation, is a platform for presenting films that aim to be produced in partnership with international companies or individuals. Projects in 19 languages ​​will be presented at the Goa Marriott Resort from the 20th to the 24th.

📪 The Manager

The story is about the pressures a bank manager faces in his work and family life after transferring Rs 1 crore to a foreign account. Anuj Tyagi and Vipin Radhakrishnan are the producers. Sandeep Sreelekha works as a creative director, cinematographer, and documentary director.

📪 Puthenkacheri

The plot is about the wonders created by letters sent to the Chief Minister by a marginalized woman in society. James Joseph Valiyakulam is the producer. Director Rajesh K's debut film 'Chor Chor Super Chor' had won recognition at international festivals.

📪 Colors of the Sea

The plot is about three fishermen, who are stage actors, facing coastal erosion. Sanju Surendran is the co-producer.

Jeffin Thomas is the assistant director.
