KOCHI: Actor Jagadish may withdraw from the election for the post of president of the film stars organisation AMMA. It is reported that Jagadish already held discussions with both Mohanlal, Mammootty and Suresh Gopi on the matter. Jagadish encourages a woman to ascend the top-most position within the organisation and, for the same matter, has decided not to contest. The decision of Mohanlal, Mammootty and Suresh Gopi will be crucial. With suggestions of a woman to take the helm, the chances of actress Shwetha Menon becoming the new AMMA president have increased considerably.

Actors Jagadish, Shwetha Menon and Baburaj filed their nomination papers for the AMMA president post. The last date for filing nomination papers is Thursday. Baburaj will contest for the post of general secretary. Actor Raveendran will contest for the post of vice president or treasurer.
