Priya Prakash Varrier is an actress who became familiar to Malayalis through the film Oru Adaar Love directed by Omar Lulu. The actress has acted in many languages, including Tamil. Priya has shared in many interviews about the lack of opportunities in films and the criticism she received on social media. Priya's last Malayalam film was Mandakini, which was released last year. Now, the actress has opened up about being removed from a prominent director's film in an interview granted to a YouTube channel.

"I ask everyone for a chance to act. I was removed from a film at the very end. It made me very sad. I was selected for that film. I was prepping every detail for the character. That's why I was even more sad. I had turned down many films that came my way and waited for that character. It took me six days to prepare for a song. After all this, I was removed from that character just before the shooting started. I had been sending regular messages to the director of that film asking for a chance to act. I got that opportunity after sending messages for about two years. As soon as I came to know that I had been removed, I called the director and expressed my sadness. The director told me that he would call me when the opportunity comes. I am not angry with him at all," said Priya Prakash Varrier.
