‘I would have been Hindu if I had been born at my neighbour’s place, would have been Christian if born in another house’; eyes are getting welled up, says Shane

Shane Nigam is someone who speaks openly about his feelings on a topic. His next movie ‘Little Hearts’ is set to release on June 7th. Mahima Nambiar is the lead actress in the film. Shine Tom Chacko also plays a key role in the movie.

A few things Shane said during an interview as part of promotions for his movie are now going viral on social media. He had spoken about the situation in Palestine.

He said that he gets emotional when he sees women and children suffering.

"I get emotional when I see all this. There might be several reasons for the war. Whatever may be the reason, why are they killing these women and children? It is very difficult for me to see this. My eyes get teary. I relate it to my mother. That might be a weakness of mine. Armies should fight against each other like how it was back in those days. The victor can dictate terms and do whatever they want after the fight. But why are you killing these children? Why do they do that? There are many injustices like that," Shane said.

"Did we choose our religion when we were born? Is it alright to harass a person because of their religion? I would have been a Hindu if I had been born at my neighbour's house. I would have been a Christian if I had been born in another house. So then why are people being put aside or harassed because of religion?" he said.

"Everything has both good and bad. Is there anybody who is perfect? There are bad qualities in me. I am not that good a person. But I still have some good things in me. That’s exactly how everyone else is as well. Our life is very short and small. We don’t even know if we will wake up tomorrow so then what’s the point in all this war? Who are we trying to show it to? What do you gain from this? Humanity needs to be there’ said Shane.

Recently a photo shared by Shane had gone viral. Shane shared a picture wearing a kafia with the caption 'Sudapi from India'.
