THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Even before the election results are out, Congress supporters are busy leading a cyber war over the Chief Ministerial post, disturbing a section of senior leaders and UDF allies.

Many are of the opinion that it was completely immature for the co-leaders to take up the social media discussion that escalated at an inappropriate time.

There are opinions on social media that such moves are a way of humiliating the people who voted for them. The allies are angry over the silence shown by senior leaders while their minions continue to battle it out on social media. Ramesh Chennithala, who went to Delhi to discuss organisational matters with leaders in Maharashtra, is likely to meet AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi and inform them about the developments.

Benny Behanan had written to the high command the other day expressing his dissatisfaction with the discussions going on social media. KPCC President Sunny Joseph had said that there are organisational methods to decide who should be the Chief Minister, and the final decision will be taken by the high command.

Chennithala had also responded that controversies would break the morale of the workers. Kodikunnil Suresh called the discussions unnecessary while K. Muraleedharan termed it ridiculous. Discussions are also being held in connection with the current controversy regarding A.P. Anilkumar's visit to Panakkad the other day.

K. Sudhakaran, who openly supported Chennithala for the post of Chief Minister a few days back, suddenly made a volte-face and started valorising KC Venugopal. Mathew Kuzhalnadan, Roji.M. John, Ramya Haridas, KSU State President Aloysius Xavier and others came in support of K Sudhakaran’s decision to back KC Venugopal over Ramesh.

However, the other faction alleged this was a move to silence V.D. Satheesan, who united the workers and led the Team UDF with the sole intention of winning the elections.

“Congress is a democratic party. Anyone can express their opinion. I am not interested in discussing the Chief Minister of Kerala. There are capable leaders. Wait for the results.” -K.C.Venugopal, A.I.C.C. General Secretary
