NEW DELHI: Shashi Tharoor MP has warned the congress in Kerala. He clarified that if the party does not want his services, he has other options. The party should utilize his skills properly, directed Tharoor. He clarified his stance again in an interview given to a national media the other day.
Tharoor had written an article in the same media praising the Start-up Mission in Kerala a few days ago. Following this, there was severe criticisms against Tharoor in the Congress. He has responded again after this. Meantime, it is reported that Tharoor has not responded to questions about leaving the Congress.
'If the Congress does not want his services, there are other options. The party in Kerala is facing a leadership crisis. If it does not work hard, it will face another setback. There is a possibility of setback at the national level. The constituent parties are not satisfied. The people who voted for me have also given me freedom of expression. Surveys conducted by various agencies have indicated that he is fit for the leadership position.
He joined the party because Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and Ramesh Chennithala requested him. He is a writer, has the ability to speak, and has won from Thiruvananthapuram four times. This is because he has garnered more votes than the Congress traditionally gets. People like his opinions outside the party. That is understood by his continued success,' Tharoor clarified in an interview.
