NEW DELHI: John Brittas MP acted as the bridge between central and state governments over the PM Shri scheme, said Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan. While revealing this in the Rajya Sabha, Pradhan said that he is congratulating the MP for that.
Kerala signed the memorandum in the project whole heartedly. Minister of Education from Kerala met me and informed the consent but don’t know what happened later, clarified Pradhan. I understand that the project is being unable to implement due to the internal disputes within the state government. Pradhan blamed the state government for the confusion.
From the beginning, Kerala was against implementing PM Shri, the educational scheme introduced by the central government. However, in the beginning of October, the Kerala Government informed as joining in PM Shri even without the knowledge of the constituent parties. Later when the constituents including the CPI raised sharp objections, the state informed the Centre that they are withdrawing from the project. Kerala also sent a letter to the central government demanding to stop further proceedings over PM Shri.
