NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party has decided to share more seats with the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections. Out of the total seven seats in Delhi, AAP will contest in four seats and Congress in three seats as part of the India alliance. AAP sources indicate that the final decision regarding this will be taken soon.

Earlier in Delhi, the seat sharing talks progressed with AAP in six seats and Congress in one seat. The AAP leadership responded that the Congress is not entitled to a single seat, but it is giving one seat as per the courtesy of the alliance.

In Delhi, the AAP government is in power, but the BJP has swept the Lok Sabha elections in the last two times. Meanwhile, in Punjab, where the party is in power, AAP will not allow Congress to contest. Here Congress and AAP will contest separately. Apart from Delhi, discussions are in progress between the two parties regarding seat sharing in the states of Gujarat, Goa and Haryana.
