NEW DELHI: A BSF (Border Security Force) jawan has reportedly been detained by Pakistan. The incident occurred along the Punjab border. Reports state that the jawan was taken into custody by Pakistani Rangers on allegations of crossing the border. The jawan in question is Constable P.K. Singh of the 182nd Battalion, who was captured near the Firozpur border. It is reported that both military forces are currently engaged in discussions to secure the jawan’s release.

The incident took place yesterday around 12 noon. This development comes at a time of heightened tension between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack. The jawan was in uniform at the time of his capture and was carrying his service rifle. He was reportedly accompanying farmers who had crossed the border. He was apprehended about 30 meters beyond the Zero Line. Following his capture, a search was conducted and his weapon and other belongings were seized.
