Actor arrested on serial actress’ sexual abuse complaint, forced to abort twice

BENGALURU: An actor has been arrested for sexually abusing a serial actress. The arrested is famous Kannada actor and winner of Comedy Khiladigalu Season 2, Madenur Manu. The actor has been arrested on charges of rape, cheating, physical abuse and harassment on pretext of marriage.

Manu rose to prominence after becoming the winner of the Kannada reality show 'Comedy Khiladigali Season 2'. The complaint filed at the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station said that he sexually abused the actress during a trip to Shikkaripura in Shivamogga in November 2022.

The actress met Manu while participating in a reality show in 2018. The two then became friends. Her complaint said that Manu took her to a hotel room and raped her, promising to pay her for doing the show. She also alleged that he later took her to his house and raped her.

She said that when she became pregnant twice, he gave her abortion pills. She also accused him of filming their private moments and threatened to make it public if she revealed the matter to anyone. The actress also claimed that she had helped him financially. The police said that they are investigating the incident in detail.
