KOCHI: The passport of Dileep, who was acquitted in the actor assault case, will be released. The decision is that of the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court. The court accepted the actor’s demand seeking the release of his passport. Dileep's lawyers convinced the court that he has to go abroad for the promotion of his new film.

Dileep submitted his passport as part of the conditions when he was granted bail at the time of his arrest in the case. Later he sought relaxation in the conditions several times and went abroad. The passport was later in the custody of the court. The defendant requested the court to return the passport on the day he was acquitted in the case. However, the prosecution told the court that there is a need to appeal and hence the passport should not be returned. However, when the court considered the matter again and clarified that Dileep has been acquitted in the case and the bail bonds had ended.
