
MUMBAI: Famous actor Bharat Kapoor (80) died Monday evening at around 3.30 pm at Sion Hospital in Mumbai following a cardiac arrest. His last rites were performed at the crematorium near the hospital Monday evening itself. Bharat Kapoor had been undergoing treatment in the hospital for the past three days.
As a mark of respect, a prayer meeting has been organized at the North Bombay Association on April 30 between 5 pm and 7 pm. Family members, friends and colleagues from the film industry are expected to pay their respects.
Bharat Kapoor is an actor who has been able to find his own place in the Hindi film and serial industry through his acting career spanning four decades. Kapoor was a familiar face in the Hindi entertainment industry. In his career spanning four decades, Bharat Kapoor has acted in many notable films. Some of his notable films include Noori (1979), Ram Balram (1980), Love Story (1981), Bazaar (1982), Khuda Gava (1992), and Meenakshi: A Tale of Three Cities (2004).
Apart from films, he was also an active presence in television series. He became well-known to the Mini screen audience through popular series like Amanat, Sans, Tara, and Chunauti. Prominent film activist Ashok Pandit expressed his condolences on the demise of Bharat Kapoor. Ashok Pandit wrote on Instagram that he was a great human being and the memories of working with him early in his career will always remain with him.
