Woman dies after being hit by speeding bike

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An elderly woman who was seriously injured after being hit by a bike in Vellanad, has died. Two elderly women who were out for their morning walk at 5 am on Sunday were hit by a speeding bike. Geetha (75) of Vellanad, who was injured in the accident, has succumbed to her injuries. Her relative was also seriously injured.

Geetha, who was in a critical condition, was on ventilator at the medical college hospital. Nithin Krishnan of Vellanad, is the accused in the incident. Nithin Krishnan has given a statement to the police that he lost control of the vehicle and got scared when he suddenly saw people on the turning. He was arrested and later released on bail.
Police said Nitin Krishnan was driving speedily. This is clear from the CCTV footage of the incident. After the accident, he left the spot without stopping the vehicle.
