Actor Srikanth involved drug case: Nungambakkam police take actor Krishna into custody

CHENNAI: Police are moving ahead with further action in the drug case involving actor Srikanth. Following the arrest of Srikanth and AIADMK leader and film producer Prasad, Nungambakkam police have now taken popular actor Krishna into custody.

Police are grilling Krishna while his role in the case has not been revealed yet. Krishna is also the brother of the famous director Vishnu Vardhan. He has acted in notable roles in many films like Anjali, Iruvar, and Thalapathy.

Producer Prasad was booked for distributing cocaine to his friends in the film industry, including Srikanth, and for hosting lavish drug-fueled parties. Police say Prasad is an accused in a job fraud case and a blackmail case. So far, 22 people have been arrested in connection with the case. Authorities said that Srikanth and Prasad will be taken into custody to uncover the full extent of the drug ring. Meanwhile, Srikanth, who is in remand, has filed a bail application in the Egmore court.

In the bail application, Srikanth cited his need to meet his son and family.
