'After fighting elections, work for common interests of India'; Shashi Tharoor with yet another veiled attack on Congress

NEW DELHI: Shashi Tharoor, MP, yet again targeted his own party with a veiled attack while responding to the meeting between Newyork Mayor and US President Trump.

“This is how democracy should work. Fight passionately for your point of view in elections, with no rhetorical holds barred. But once it’s over, & the people have spoken, learn to cooperate in the common interests of the nation you are both pledged to serve. I would love to see more of this in India — and am trying to do my part.” Shashi Tharoor wrote.

A few days ago, Tharoor had praised the Prime Minister's speech at the Ramnath Goenka Speech Series.

Shashi Tharoor said that he felt Modi's speech was a cultural call and even hailed the Prime Minister’s economic stance. The Modi government had earlier sent Tharoor abroad to lead the Operation Sindoor delegation, which led to the displeasure of the Congress leadership.
