NEW DELHI: The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security flagged an alert at all airports in India, given the terrorist attack threat. The alert was issued following warnings from intelligence agencies about the possibility of an attack by terrorists or anti-social elements between September 22 and October 2, 2025.
There is an urgent directive to tighten surveillance at all aviation facilities, including airports, airstrips, helipads, flying schools and training institutes. The notification in this regard was issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) on August 4. National media reported that the BCAS' directive was based on specific information received during an investigation related to the activities of terrorist organisations in Pakistan.
In addition, the BCAS has directed airport security officials to maintain close liaison with the local police, Central Industrial Security Force, Intelligence Bureau and other relevant agencies. The directive states that any important information or alert received should be shared with all concerned immediately.
Among other measures, the security agency has directed that the identity documents of all employees, contractors and visitors be strictly checked, and all CCTV systems be operational and continuously monitored.
