BENGALURU: The charred body of a 13-year-old boy, who went missing a few days ago has been found. The body of Nishchith A, an eighth class, was found in a deserted area. Nishchit went missing on Wednesday while returning home after tuition.

When the boy failed to reach home even after 7 pm, the family searched for him at the tuition center. The teacher informed that he had left the center on time. During the subsequent search, his bicycle was found in a nearby park. Meanwhile, Nishchit's father J C Achit, an assistant professor at a private college, received a message from an unknown person. He demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh to get the boy back. They later filed a complaint with the Hulimavu police. The body was found while the investigation was underway.

More than half of the body was charred. Senior officials including Bengaluru Rural SP C K Baba visited the spot. The police concluded that the accused, who learned that the parents had informed the police, beat the boy and set him on fire. A case of kidnapping and murder has been registered.

The police have taken two suspects into custody. The police arrested Gurumurthy, who was the driver of the child's house, and his friend Gopikrishna. The two were shot in the leg when they tried to attack the police while trying to arrest them. The police said that more details will be revealed only after detailed interrogation.
