NEW DELHI: Following Google and Microsoft, American e-commerce giant Amazon is set to make a major investment in India. Amazon said yesterday that it will invest $35 billion (Rs 3.15 lakh crore) in India's artificial intelligence and logistics sectors over the next five years.
The investment was announced by Senior Vice President Amit Agarwal at the 'Amazon Event 2025' organised in Delhi under the title of Investment for Developed India. This is in addition to the $40 billion investment made by Amazon so far. With this, India has gained the potential to emerge as the world's tech hub. Microsoft had announced that it would invest Rs 1.5 lakh crore in AI-related sectors. Google had announced an investment of Rs 1.35 lakh crore to set up an AI hub in Visakhapatnam last October.
