NEW DELHI: The ceasefire announced on Saturday was a crucial decision that eased the tensions between India and Pakistan. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced in a press meet that India was declaring a ceasefire and that there would be retaliation if the provocation continued. He said that there was no influence of a third party on the talks for peace on the border. However, Vikram Misri, who announced the central decision, was later subjected to a severe cyber-attack.

He was cyber-attacked by mentioning the personal details of him and his daughter. With this, Vikram Misri locked his official X account. Senior political leaders and the IAS-IPS Association came forward in support of Misri over the incident.

Some called him a traitor and a cheater. Many were angered by the fact that Pakistan continued its attack on Saturday despite India announcing a ceasefire. Meantime, some have also criticized Vikram Misri's daughter and London-based lawyer Didon Misri. Many have pointed hat she appeared in the case on behalf of Rohingya Muslims.

Meantime, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi also came in support of Vikram Misri. 'Vikram Misri is a respectable and honest diplomat working for our country. He should not be blamed for the decisions taken by the political leadership,' Owaisi said. Former Foreign Secretary Nirupama Menon Rao also said that blaming Vikram Misri for the India-Pakistan ceasefire announcement is a big mistake.
