LUCKNOW: A Chinese national has been arrested for illegally entering India and videographing the border area. The incident happened at the Rupaidiha check post on the India-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich. The 49-year-old Chinese national was arrested by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The officials said that he had visited Pakistan and Pakistani, Chinese and Nepalese currencies were recovered from him.
The man was filming the strategic border area after entering India from Nepal, said Ganga Singh Udavat, commandant of the 42nd battalion of the SSB. He was identified as Liu Kunjing, a resident of China's Hunan province.
He did not have valid documents to enter India. Three mobile phones were also seized from him, one of which had videos of strategic places in India. A map of Nepal was recovered from him. Everything on the map was written in English. However, Kunjing said through gestures that he knew neither Hindi or English. The SSB, police and other security agencies are interrogating him with the help of an interpreter.
