GANDHI NAGAR: A case has been registered against the hospital in Gujarat for widely circulating a private video of pregnant women being examined, on social media. The footage was from Payal Maternity Hospital in Rajkot and was being sold on Telegram groups. Following protests, the Gujarat Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

Seven videos were uploaded on a YouTube channel named Megha MBBS. The video can be viewed through a Telegram link by paying between Rs 999 and Rs 1,500. Police said the CCTV footage shows a female doctor examining patients in a closed room and a nurse giving them injections.

The investigation has found that the Telegram group was formed in September last year and the YouTube channel was launched in January this year. The Telegram group has more than 90 members. The nurse and pregnant woman can be heard talking in the video. The authorities have stated that the hospital's CCTV system may have been hacked.

The authorities said there is no fault on the part of the hospital and that they will fully cooperate with the investigation. However, the authorities have not provided any explanation for the installation of cameras in the examination room, which threatens the privacy of women.
