CHENNAI: Clips from the upcoming Tamil film 'Jana Nayagan', starring Vijay, have reportedly been leaked online, raising concerns among fans and the film’s team. The leaked clips are said to include important portions of the movie, which has increased calls for strict action against those responsible.
Fans have urged the production house, KVN Productions, to take immediate steps to identify those behind the leak and take legal action, including against individuals sharing the footage on social media. Initial reports suggest that the footage may have been leaked from the editing table.
Some fans have also alleged that the leak could be intentional, linking it to Vijay’s growing involvement in politics. The actor is expected to enter full-time politics and contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections through his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
Directed by H Vinod, Jana Nayagan was originally planned for release on January 9. However, the release was delayed after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) raised concerns about certain scenes, stating that they could hurt public sentiments.
Following a legal dispute that lasted nearly a month, the makers agreed to submit the film to the revising committee. The film has been under scrutiny since January, and there is still no confirmation on whether it has received certification. There is speculation that the film’s release may be further delayed until after the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, especially considering Vijay’s active political role.
The film features a strong cast including Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Narain, Nassar, Priyamani, Sunil and Nizhalgal Ravi.
