KASHMIR: An encounter has been reported between security forces and terrorists in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Sanyal village of Kathua district. According to reports, the security forces opened fire on the armed terrorists.
Based on intelligence inputs, a joint operation was conducted by the CRPF, Jammu and Kashmir Police Special Operations Wing and the Army.
The joint search operation was launched after 'suspicious movement' was detected in the general area of Sangla in Surankot in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.
The encounter took place in a forest area near the border in the Hiranagar sector. Reports suggest that four to five terrorists are present in the area.
Recently, a terrorist hideout was uncovered in a remote forest area in Doda district, which led to the discovery of a pistol and other ammunition.
