MUMBAI: The country's first AC sleeper Vande Bharat Express will run between Lucknow and Mumbai. The train will have stops at Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Nizamuddin and Agra. The timetable is expected to be released this month itself.
The railways finalized the route for the sleeper Vande Bharat Express after extensive surveys. The train will start from Lucknow and reach Mumbai via Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly Junction, Rampur, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Agra. The train will operate four days a week and will have 20 fully air-conditioned coaches including first, second and third classes, and two SLR coaches. Around 1200 people can travel on this train.
The sleeper Vande Bharat Express, rumoured to be faster than Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains, will be a novel experience for train travellers. Apart from the amenities provided, the train will be a big solace for people of Uttar Pradesh who are currently distressed with the over-packed Bareilly Lokmanya Tilak Express and Ramnagar - Bandra Express.
