
FARIDABAD: High explosives were found near the capital city. 350 kg of ammonium nitrate and two guns were found in Faridabad, a city near Delhi in Haryana. This was during a special search conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted the search after the arrest of a Kashmiri doctor from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The doctor was arrested for sharing posters supporting Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Reports say the arrested Dr Adil Ahmad Rather follows terrorist ideas. The Jammu and Kashmir Police decided to conduct a search in Faridabad after questioning him. It is reported that another doctor named Mujammil Shakeel was in possession of explosives and weapons. He has been arrested. This doctor is a native of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. He works at Alfalah Hospital in Faridabad.
Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta said that 350 kg of explosives along with timers were recovered. He said a pistol, three magazines and a walkie-talkie set were also recovered. The police started investigation when posters supporting the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed were seen in Srinagar on October 27. The police got CCTV footage of Dr Adil Ahmad putting up the posters.
He was arrested from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The police found that Adil was working at the Government Medical College in Anantnag till October last year. When the police searched his locker in Anantnag, an assault rifle was found. The explosives were seized from Faridabad based on the information shared by him during interrogation.
