IndiGo flight makes emergency landing in Mumbai after bomb threat

MUMBAI: Chennai-Mumbai IndiGo flight made an emergency landing following a bomb threat. IndiGo flight 6E5314 landed at Mumbai airport. The bomb threat message was received when the plane took off from Chennai and was about to land in Mumbai.

IndiGo said the cabin crew followed protocol and isolated the aircraft as per safety instructions. Passengers were safe and everyone was immediately evacuated from the aircraft, officials said. The officials also stated that the aircraft will be brought to the terminal after security checks.

On the 29th of last month, passengers were evacuated from the IndiGo flight which was about to depart from Delhi to Varanasi following a bomb threat. Nothing suspicious was found during the inspection. There was a bomb threat to the flight which was scheduled to take off from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport at 5.35 am on 28th.

After receiving a message that a bomb had been placed on the Indigo flight, the pilot searched and found a tissue paper written in the toilet of the plane with the words bomb explosion at 30 minutes. Then, with only minutes to go, the authorities were informed and the passengers and crew were immediately evacuated through the emergency exit. There were 176 passengers. Aviation security personnel and bomb disposal team conducted the inspection. A similar incident took place on an Air India flight scheduled to depart for Vadodara on May 15.

Recently, IndiGo introduced a new system for women passengers. Indigo has prepared a system for women to know whether the seat next to them is a woman or a man while booking a ticket for travel. IndiGo informed that the new system is for the safety and satisfaction of women passengers.
