NEW DELHI: IndiGo has introduced a special Rs 10,000 travel voucher for passengers affected by the recent large-scale flight cancellations. The voucher can be used for booking tickets anytime within the next 12 months. The airline said the decision was made in view of the inconvenience caused to passengers who were left waiting at airports for long hours on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th of this month. This benefit will be provided in addition to the refund of ticket fares.
According to current guidelines, IndiGo offers compensation between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 when flights are cancelled within 24 hours.
The airline also stated that most refunds for cancelled flights have already been processed, and the remaining refunds will be issued soon. Refunds will also be provided for bookings made through third-party apps or platforms. Such passengers should email customer.experience@goindigo.in
for assistance.
IndiGo Chairman Vikram Singh Mehta said, “We had already begun steps to implement the new Flight Duty Time Limit (FDTL) norms introduced by the central government, and the recent cancellations were part of this process.”
