MUMBAI: Private telecom operators like Jio and Airtel recently hiked their tariffs for both prepaid and postpaid services. In contrast, BSNL has emerged as a relief for customers by offering a range of affordable plans with long-term validity. The state-run telecom company is also preparing to roll out 5G services in India.
Now, in a move that has surprised private telecom providers, BSNL has launched a new plan with a validity of 180 days. Priced at Rs 897, this plan is ideal for users who are tired of frequent recharges, offering six months of uninterrupted service.
The Rs 897 plan includes unlimited calling to all networks for six months. Additionally, it offers 90GB of data (without a daily data cap) and 100 free SMS per day.
On the other hand, Jio has responded with a competitive Rs 1,748 plan. This recharge provides services for 11 months and includes unlimited voice calling to any network across the country, 3,600 free SMS, and added benefits like access to JioTV and 50GB of AI cloud storage.
