JAIPUR: A youth who works as a contract manager at the DRDO guest house has been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan's ISI. The arrested person has been identified as Uttarakhand native Mahendra Prasad (32) who works as a contract manager at the DRDO guest house near Chandan Field Firing Range in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
Rajasthan police’s CID had been closely monitoring the state ahead of Independence Day celebrations, and Mahendra Prasad came under their surveillance. He was trapped by CID intelligence on August 12. Reports suggest he had established contact with the ISI through social media. During interrogation by the secret investigation department, it was revealed that he had shared critical classified information about DRDO scientists, Indian Army personnel, and missile tests at the Chandan Field Firing Range. The CID is also investigating whether others were involved in the espionage.
The Chandan Field Firing Range is a critical site for testing India's strategic weapons, including missiles. Authorities have stated that Mahendra Prasad's mobile phone and other devices will be subjected to forensic examination as part of the probe.
