Woman mauled to death in Rottweiler attack, bitten in 50 places

BENGALURU: A Pedestrian woman was killed in a Rottweiler dog attack on Saturday. This horrific incident happened yesterday evening at the Honnuru Gollarahatti village in the suburb of Davanagare in Karnataka. Anita Halesh (38) was brutally killed in the attack.


The dogs attacked her while she was walking towards her parents' house at 11 at night. The dogs rushed in and attacked her. She was critically injured with bites over fifty parts, including thighs and neck. Anita couldn’t be saved, although the locals who witnessed the incident drove the dogs away with great effort and took her to the hospital.


The locals say that two people came by an auto, left the dogs at the roadside and fled. The CCTV footage of this was received. The dogs attempted to attack some natives in the area. They demand to charge murder against those who left dogs at the roadside. Attempts are ongoing to identify those who abandoned the dogs. Police filed an FIR on the basis of CCTV visuals at the place and premises of the incident.


Meanwhile, Anita’s brother has come forward accusing mystery in the incident. He demanded an investigation into the motive behind the crime. The Rottweiler is the most dangerous dog breed. In certain states in India, this breed is banned from domestication.
