Malayali soldier dies in accident during patrol in Jammu and Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A Malayali soldier has died while on duty in Jammu and Kashmir. Subedar Sajeesh K (48) was killed when the vehicle he was travelling in during a patrol fell into a gorge. The incident occurred at Surankote in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Sajeesh was a native of Cherukunnu, Malappuram.

The accident took place yesterday. He had served in the Army for 27 years and had returned to duty just a month after visiting home. His body will be flown to Karipur airport on Saturday night in an Army aircraft and then taken to a private hospital mortuary in Kottakkal. It will be brought to his home on Sunday morning for public homage.
