
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi elucidated on India's ambitious 'MANAV' project related to artificial intelligence, while speaking at the AI Impact Summit in Delhi. The Prime Minister explained that 'Manav' is the Hindi word for human.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the word represents five key principles. These are the ethical framework, accountable governance, national sovereignty, including the right to data, accessible and inclusive technology, and valid and legitimate systems.
"AI is a historical transformation on par with the invention of wireless communication. What we are seeing and predicting today is the beginning of its impact.
AI is making machines intelligent. Moreover, it is multiplying human capabilities. Technological growth that once took decades is now evolving at a much faster pace. The transition from machine learning to 'Learning machines' is faster than ever before,' said Narendra Modi.
The AI Impact Summit is being organised from February 16 to 20. The summit, which will be held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, is being attended by more than 500 global leaders, 150 academic researchers, 400 chief technology officers, vice presidents, and philanthropists.
