Model's body found in canal with throat slit; murder suspected

CHANDIGARH: The body of Sheetal aka Simmy Chaudhary, a popular model from Haryana known for her appearances in music videos was found in a canal in Sonipat with her throat slit. The cause behind the suspected murder remains unclear.

Sheetal had been living in Panipat with her sister Neha. On June 14, she had gone to the Ahar district for a shooting assignment. When she failed to return, her sister filed a missing person complaint with the police. During the subsequent investigation, the police found her body dumped in the canal.

This incident follows a similar case last week, where influencer Kamal Kaur’s decomposed body was found in the back seat of a car in the parking lot of Adesh Medical University, near the Bathinda–Chandigarh national highway. Kamal had reportedly left home on June 9 to attend an event and had not returned since.
