Mother was distributing sweets without knowing navy officer’s death in Pahalgam

HARYANA: The news of the death of the lieutenant, who got married on April 16, in Pahalgam terror attack, had shocked the nation. 26-year-old Vinay Narwal, navy officer posted at the naval training command in Kochi, was shot dead by terrorists in front of his wife. When he was shot dead in Pahalgam, his mother was distributing sweets to their neighbours in Karnal city.

Vinay Narwal got married to Himanshi on April 16. His mother Asha Narwal was distributing sweets to her neighbours as part of the marriage. The tragic news reached the family then.

All in the Narwal family was so happy after his marriage, said his neighbour Naresh Bansal. Vinay and his wife Himanshi pursuing Ph.D left for Pahalgam on April 21 for their honeymoon. The couple first decided to go to Switzerland but due to visa issues, they changed their plan to Kashmir. The tragic news reached their family Tuesday afternoon.


The terrorists in military attire shot Vinay when he was going to have lunch with his wife. Himanshi's video pleading to leave her husband has already gained worldwide attention.
