Thala's need for speed: A ₹1,000 Oops!

RANCHI: Ranchi’s favourite son was recently reminded that even legends have to follow the speed limit. While cruising through his hometown, Dhoni was flagged by the city’s automated traffic surveillance system. The result? An e-challan for ₹1,000 issued under Section 183 of the Motor Vehicle Act.

It seems the automated cameras don't care about ICC trophies; they only care about the speedometer. While a minor fine for the superstar, it certainly gave the local traffic department a story to tell at the water cooler.

The speeding ticket isn't the only paperwork heading to the Dhoni household. The Jharkhand State Housing Board has thrown a bouncer at the former captain, issuing a notice regarding his former residence on Harmoo Road.

The board alleges that the land, originally allotted for residential purposes, was being used for commercial business. Before moving to his sprawling farmhouse on Ring Road, this Harmoo Road property was Dhoni’s primary base. Authorities are now looking into whether the transition from "living room" to "showroom" (reportedly a diagnostic facility) followed the rules.

Yellow Brigade’s Big Gamble: IPL 2026

On the field, the stakes couldn't be higher. Dhoni is currently sweating it out in the nets for IPL 2026, a season where Chennai Super Kings (CSK) desperately need a redemption arc.

2025 Hangover

To say the 2025 season was a "disappointment" for the Yellow Army is an understatement. CSK suffered a rare collapse, losing 10 out of 14 matches and finishing at the bottom of the table.

  • Dhoni's Stats: 196 runs | Strike Rate: 135.17
  • The Vibe: Fans were left wanting more of that vintage "finisher" magic that was sadly missing in the win column.

The Sanju Samson Swap

In a move that sent shockwaves through the IPL trade window, CSK has completely overhauled their core. In a massive deal worth ₹18 crore, Chennai acquired Sanju Samson from the Rajasthan Royals. The cost? Sending away two of their most beloved stalwarts: Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran.

With the 2026 season set to kick off on March 28, the big question remains: Can Sanju’s flair and Dhoni’s mentorship turn the tide for the five-time champions?
