MEERUT: Muskan, who is serving jail for brutally murdering her husband with the help of her lover and hiding the body in a drum, has given birth to a baby girl. Muskan’s husband Saurabh was killed when he came to India from London to celebrate their daughter’s birthday. According to the case details, Muskan allegedly mixed sleeping pills into his food and, once he became unconscious, stabbed him to death with a sharp knife. His head and hands were later cut off, and the body parts were packed into a blue drum and encased in concrete.

Muskan, who had been lodged in Meerut Jail, was shifted to the Medical College Hospital recently for delivery. She gave birth to a healthy baby weighing 2.4 kilograms. Hospital authorities confirmed that both mother and child are in good health. Although her family was informed about the birth, none of them came to visit her.

The murder took place on March 4 at the couple’s home in Indiranagar. Muskan and her lover, Sahil Shukla, allegedly carried out the killing together. Their initial plan was to cut the body into 15 pieces, place them inside a drum, and plant a tree in it. However, fearing that the body would start to emit a foul smell, they decided to fill the drum with concrete instead. The concrete-filled drum became too heavy to lift, prompting them to seek help from outsiders. When that, too, proved unsuccessful, Muskan told her parents that she had killed Saurabh and was leaving with Sahil. The duo then fled to Himachal Pradesh.

Based on the information provided by her parents, the police arrested Muskan and Sahil on March 18. Muskan’s parents have also given statements against her during the investigation. Saurabh was aware of Muskan’s relationship with Sahil but had chosen not to end the marriage for the sake of their daughter. He had applied for a passport for the child and had been waiting to take her to London.
