NEW DELHI: The Bihar Economic Offences Unit has arrested Sanjeev Mukhiya, the prime accused in the 2024 NEET-UG question paper leak. Bihar EOU Additional Director General Nayyar Hasnain Khan said that Mukhiya was arrested on Thursday night. On April 9, the Bihar Police had announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh for information related to Mukhiya. Sanjeev has several cases against him, including major exam fraud, constable recruitment scam, teacher recruitment scam and other pending criminal cases.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a chargesheet in the court in the NEET paper leak case in October 2024. The question paper was leaked from the control room of Oasis School, the NEET exam centre in Hazaribagh, on May 5. The question paper leak was confirmed through forensic examination.
