Nine-month-old baby dies after swallowing balloon

CHENNAI: A nine-month-old baby died after swallowing balloon while playing. The victim has been identified as M Mahizhan, son of Muthumani of Tiruchirapally in Tamil Nadu. The child swallowed the balloon accidentally while playing at his home. He was immediately taken to Namakkal Government Hospital, but his life could not be saved.

The police registered a case of unnatural death in the incident. The child's body is kept in the hospital. The body will be handed over to his family after completing all the proceedings.
