MUMBAI: BJP workers forced a senior Congress leader to wear a saree in the incident of morphing and circulating the picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP workers forced 73-year-old Prakash “Mama” Pagare, a Congress worker from Dombivli in Kalyan district of Maharashtra, to wear a saree. Two BJP workers held Prakash's hands behind his back, and two others draped the saree on him. Pagare shouted, "What are you doing?" as the BJP workers made him wear the saree.
The BJP workers made the harsh move after the Congress worker posted a morphed picture of the Prime Minister wearing a sari with a Marathi song playing in the background on social media. "It is criminal and unacceptable to defame the Prime Minister by posting such a picture. This will serve as a warning to those who try to defame our leaders through social media," said BJP Kalyan district president Nandu Parab.
