SRINAGAR: An investigation is underway into the finding of a balloon with the word Pakistan and a text in Urdu inscribed on it. The balloon was found Friday morning in the border area of Ramgarh in Samba district of Jammu. The police said the balloon was found in an agricultural area near a school in the area. After being informed by the locals, the police reached the spot and took the balloon into custody. The police also said that a detailed investigation has been launched into the incident.
Security forces had found balloons with Pakistani symbols from places near the Line of Control in north Kashmir the other day. Following this, security was tightened in the border districts of Baramulla and Kupwara. A group of balloons with the Pakistani flag attached was found near Sarna Top in Khadinayar area of Baramulla. They were found by a patrol team of the Army's 46 Rashtriya Rifles. The balloons were later taken into custody.
The initial conclusion of the police is that the balloons may have crossed the border in strong winds. However, security agencies are also looking into other possibilities. Security officials have also advised those living near the Line of Control to be vigilant. If you notice anything suspicious, you should immediately report it to the nearest police station or security department.
