Pakistani spy ring involvement: Former Air Force officer arrested

TEZPUR: Former Air Force officer involved in Pakistani spy ring arrested in Assam. Kulendra Sharma, a native of Patiya in Tezpur, was arrested. The police said that he was taken into custody after continuous surveillance and investigation.

Kulendra Sharma is suspected of having contacts with people linked to the Pakistani spy agency and providing them with sensitive information. Suspicious documents were recovered from his mobile phone and laptop. Although the suspicion about his Pakistani links is strong, it cannot be confirmed until the investigation is completed, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sonitpur, Assam, Haricharan Bhumij said.

Kulendra was a junior warrant officer at the Air Force Station in Tezpur, where major Air Force units including the Sukhoi 30 Squadron operate. He retired in 2002. He then worked for some time at Tezpur University.
