HYDERABAD: Telugu channel news anchor Swetcha Votarkar (40) was found hanging inside her house, evoking shock among her colleagues and the populace. She was found dead at her home in Hyderabad on Friday night. Police started an investigation based on a complaint received from Votarkar’s father.
It is reported that Swetcha’s father handed over information about a person to the police, accusing him of being responsible for his daughter's death.
On Friday, Swetcha’s daughter returned from school to find her mother’s room locked from the inside. Despite calling her, the room remained closed, which prompted her to seek the neighbour's help. Later, when barged inside using force, the neighbours found the popular news anchor hanging from the fan.
Swetcha lived with her mother and daughter in the house. The body was sent for postmortem.
