MADURAI: The Madurai Party Congress has passed a resolution demanding reservation in the private sector as OBC, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe groups face discrimination and neglect in the society. The resolution, presented by PB member Ram Chandra Dome, was seconded by Central Committee member Isfaqur Rahman. 13 resolutions were passed including this.

Reservation should be ensured in government unaided private schools, registered private institutions, government-aided projects of corporates, etc. The resolution also states that job losses have become common with the implementation of privatization and contract systems as part of neoliberal policies.

Central Committee member Elamaram Kareem presented a resolution demanding the immediate withdrawal of the Waqf Amendment Act, Krishna Prasad presented a resolution demanding the withdrawal of the National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing, and Central Committee member Thomas Isaac presented a resolution against deep-sea mining.
